The Daimler Buses imagery is not limited to the presentation of vehicles and technical features. It also consciously shows the people who stand for the company, its values and innovations.
Existing images from the product and service brand world of Daimler Buses (e.g. vehicles, service centers, technical features or situations along the customer journey) can be used without adjustment. Imagery with sufficient color saturation can bring vibrancy and emotionality to reduced-color designs. Black and white pictures are generally not used, with the exception of historical images that are only available in monochrome color quality.
Close-ups and detailed images of vehicles are mainly used for technical explanations. Dynamic shots with motion blur in an urban environment are defining for Daimler Buses product photography. The choice of viewing angle can create narrative contexts and a spatial perspective. Depth of focus creates a clear focus in the composition.
Portraits should represent the employees or customers of Daimler Buses in a credible, competent, and friendly manner. People are preferably portrayed in their usual working environment in realistic situations.
In principle, the focus of Daimler Buses corporate communication is on authenticity combined with a positive statement in the picture. When representing people and groups, attention should be paid to diversity and internationality – insofar as the specific situation permits – to impressively represent Daimler Buses as a modern, globally active, and value-oriented company. Product communication for the individual brands is already specified in the Daimler Truck Design Navigator. The visual language focuses on the identity of the Daimler Buses’ brands and products and reflects their unique values and visions.
It is possible to combine several images as an overall motif in a fixed horizontal/vertical grid (multipicture), which opens up further design options in addition to the use of individual motifs. Collages with a flowing mixture of different photographic content (possibly with further geometric or textual elements) are not permitted.
