The sans-serif font family “Daimler CS” is the official corporate typeface of Daimler Truck and determines the uniform typography in the applications of Daimler Truck Financial Services. Owing high recognizability and clear appearance, it makes a decisive contribution to the visual style of Daimler Truck Financial Services’ Corporate Design. All requirements in the Corporate Design environment are covered with available Regular and Bold font weights.
Daimler CS is the corporate typeface of Daimler Truck Financial Services.
Substitute fonts are used if the Daimler CS is not available or its use is not practical, for example in communication with external parties whose end devices the Daimler CS is not available. Alternatively, the use of a pre-installed system font with sans-serif optical metrics is recommended (e.g. a standard font in the MS Office software package).
Exemplary use of typography in different sizes and thicknesses
Other typefaces are generally not permitted in the Daimler Truck Financial Services’ Corporate Design. The fonts and “MB Corpo A” and “MB Corpo S”, which are only suitable to the Mercedes-Benz Brand Design, are also not used.
Distribution of the Font Software/License Information
Daimler Truck AG has a multi-year corporate license for Daimler CS. All inquiries regarding the distribution of Daimler CS or the font software must be directed exclusively to corporate-design@daimlertruck.com. Independent distribution of Daimler CS font software by departments or employees of Daimler Truck Financial Services GmbH and its subsidiaries to external third parties is strictly prohibited. Business partners must acquire their own license for the company font (if required) from the rights holder Monotype, as the Daimler Truck group license does not include third parties. External service providers and suppliers can request Daimler CS from Daimler Truck AG via e-mail and receive the relevant font packages for the provision of services for Daimler Truck Financial Services GmbH.
Technical Information
The individual styles of Daimler CS are available in the TrueType format (TTF), OpenType format (OTF) and web font formats (WOFF and WOFF2). The fonts in TTF format are suitable for use in presentations and documents that are created and edited using MS Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.) on a computer with an MS Windows or Apple macOS operating system. In the design and production of print media or moving image content with corresponding software for desktop publishing or film and video editing (e.g. Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, etc.), the fonts are used in the OTF format (suffix “Pro” in the file name). All web fonts are optimized for error-free rendering in all modern browsers and can be embedded in the graphical user interface of digital applications.
The Daimler CS fonts cover the following languages: Latin West, Latin East, Cyrillic, Greek, Vietnamese. The character set also supports layout features such as expert sets with small caps and old-style figures. The Arabic version of Daimler CS is available in both Regular and Demi font styles. Detailed specifications and technical documentation on the optical metrics of Daimler CS weights are available upon request.
