The design principles apply to all locations of name-bearing companies in the Daimler Truck group. Locations that continue to use “Mercedes-Benz” in the designation follow the rules and regulations for the use of the Mercedes-Benz brand at Daimler Truck.
The concept for interior and exterior signage combines representative visibility with maximum efficiency in design, manufacture and maintenance. It is based on a limited set of central design principles and at the same time offers a high degree of freedom for technical implementation according to local requirements and possibilities.
Primary site identification
The central location is marked with free-standing pylons or wall-mounted signs that are placed at the main entrance or at the entrance where they are clearly visible to incoming visitors. If the site has several access roads, there is a sign or pylon at each access road. Within the location, the character is usually not repeated. It can be a picture, a word or a combination of words and pictures. Colloquially, it is often ... may also be affixed to a building, provided that the building offers a representative and clearly visible location for the placement of the logotype. Third-party characters or texts are generally not depicted within the Daimler Truck location signage.
Reception areas
The representative reception area of a building or an office floor can be equipped with the corporate logotype. This is shown on a sign, which can also show the product brand logotypes that the respective organizational unit is responsible for. This combination of logotypes is expressly limited to reception areas.
Directions and signpost system, interior signage
Free-standing or wall-mounted signs or free-standing pylons with direction and path information should only be placed where they are actually necessary to find the way around. The interior signage of buildings also follows the basic corporate design elements; all pictograms and icons from the Daimler Truck library are available for this purpose. The provided examples can be used as orientation for implementation in accordance with local requirements.
External signs and references in public areas
The corporate logotype is only used on external signs, e.g. on overview boards of shared locations, if other resident companies are also represented with their logotype; representations of organizational units are placed below the corporate logotype from Daimler CSDaimler CS
The “Corporate ASE” typeface trilogy was developed and digitally designed by Prof. Kurt Weidemann .... Otherwise, the Daimler Truck location designation is only written in the standard typeface of the respective overview sign.
