The general layoutLayout
The layout provides the designer and requesting party with an impression of how a communication ... principle and the uniform design grid contribute to the uniqueness of Daimler Truck’s visual appearanceVisual Appearance
The visual appearance of a company (Corporate Design), brand, product or service.. For all applications, the height of the design area results from dividing the format into predefined horizontal units. Digital applications follow the UI/UX guidelines.
Principle of clear design
For front covers in brochures, on advertisements and posters as well as stage backdrop, the layout principle provides for a division of the format height into six units, with the top unit (1/6) reserved as the horizontal axis for the corporate logotypeCorporate Logotype
It can be a picture, a word or a combination of words and pictures. Colloquially, it is often ... and colored in white. The units below represent the design area in which texts and illustrations are placed when designing various media. Text on photos or color backgrounds are placed in such a way that a predefined inner distance is maintained on all sides within the design area. This serves as a text frame. The height of the capital letter “T” is the measurement for this inner spacing.
Horizontal orientation line
The design of inside pages follows the same layout principle. Here, the format height can be subdivided into six (1/6) or three (1/3) units, creating a horizontal axis of variable height that structures the design area into an upper and lower section. The height of the horizontal axis is 1/2, 1/3 or 1/6 of the format height from the top and is not a dividing line but an orientation line on inside pages. The visual boundary between the upper and lower areas of the design space is taken up with typography, photos, color backgrounds and infographics, but can also be deliberately broken. Text and photos, for example, can be placed on the entire design surface only in the upper or only in the lower area. This creates an exciting visual rhythm.

This divides the page using horizontal lines to which the text and image elements are aligned.. The horizontal lines run across the format at intervals of 2 mm. The text layout for brochure front covers, advertisements and posters is always left-aligned. Spacing of typography on inside pages is based on the versal heightVersal Height
