The sans serif (serifless) font family “Daimler CS” is the official corporate typeface of Daimler Truck and determines the uniform typography in Daimler Buses design applications. Thanks to its high recognizability and clear appearance, it makes a decisive contribution to the style of the Daimler Buses visual appearance. The available font styles in the weights Regular and Bold cover all requirements within the Corporate Design.
Daimler CS is the corporate typeface of Daimler Buses.
Substitute fonts are used if the Daimler CS is not available or its use is not relevant, e.g. in communication with third parties whose end devices do not have Daimler CS. Alternatively, we recommend using a pre-installed system fonts with sans serif optical properties (e.g. a default font in the MS Office software package).
Example use of typography in different sizes and weights
Other fonts are generally not permitted within the Corporate Design of Daimler Buses. The fonts and “MB Corpo A” and “MB Corpo S”, which are exclusively reserved for Mercedes-Benz branded topics, are also not used.
Distribution of font software/license notes
Daimler Truck AG has a multi-year group license for Daimler CS. All inquiries regarding the distribution of Daimler CS and/or the font software must be addressed only to corporate-design@daimlertruck.com worldwide. Independent disclosure of the font software by departments or employees of Daimler Buses GmbH and its subsidiaries to external third parties is not allowed. Sales and service partners must purchase their own license for the corporate typeface (if required) from the licensor Monotype, as the Daimler Truck group’s license does not include any partners. Service providers and suppliers can request the Daimler CS from Daimler Truck AG by e-mail and receive the relevant font packages to turn over creative deliverables for Daimler Buses GmbH.
Technical details
The different font styles of the Daimler CS are available in TrueType format (TTF), OpenType format (OTF) and in the web font formats WOFF and WOFF2. The fonts in TTF format are suitable for use in presentations and documents that are created and edited with MS Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.) on a computer with the MS Windows or Apple macOS operating system. In the design and production of print media or moving image content with corresponding software for desktop publishing or film/video cutting (e.g. Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, etc.) the fonts are used in OTF format (addition “Pro” in the file name). The web fonts are optimized for error-free display in most common browsers and can be embedded into the graphical user interface (GUI) of digital applications.
The font styles of Daimler CS cover the following languages: Latin West, Latin East, Cyrillic, Greek, Vietnamese. The character set also supports layout features such as Expert sets with capital letters and medial digits. The Arabic version of Daimler CS is available in the Regular and Demi versions.
